SCARY MOVIE POSTER

In honor of Halloween we will be doing some fun things with images often associated with the night of TRICKS and/or TREATS. The idea is taken from Worth1000.com a site devoted to photoshop contests.

Guidelines

Using your Photoshop Elements prowess, you will find a cool old black and white movie still and change it from being a scary picture into being REALLY SCARY PICTURE.

You can find some great movie stills at allposters.com

Nowadays, we get our blood 'n guts in full screaming color, but all the really *good* scary movies seem to be the old black and white horror flicks on late night tv. Still, did you ever think they could be improved upon, with just a splash of red here... a patch of green there... In this contest, you'll take black and white movie stills or publicity shots from classic (b&w) horror films, and colorize them, all or in part.

What to do:

  • Get a black and white classic horror movie image (or you can get a color image and remove the color from it)
  • Colorize any part of or all of a black and white photo from a classic horror film.
    • As always, quality is a must.
  • Don't just mail it in with one filter effect or replacing the color to patina - use the skills you have learned.
  • Rember to add layers and use the color command (like the handcolor assignment)

When you have completed your REALLY SCARY PICTURE, put it on your worklinks as REALLY SCARY PICTURE - also, link up your original black and white image as SCARY PICTURE

  • If you click on the picture of the good doctor below it will take you to the Monsterville Photoshop Contest
